Warmth from Florida. And a couple announcements., Honest Fare by Gabrielle Arnold

Uf, it’s pretty chilly out there right now. And I’m in Florida, so odds are it’s a whole lot chillier where you are. I have to admit though, I’m the world’s biggest wimp when it comes to the cold. My blood is not thin, it’s transparent. I wear socks to bed when it’s 60 degrees out. And there is a wool blanket at the foot of my bed, just in case.

This morning the sun was perpetrating a summer’s day though so I decided to just go with it. A couple images from my brave walk around the neighborhood…hopefully they’ll help warm you up a bit.

(Just held a pair of light refraction glasses partially over my lens to get the spectral effect. Pretty nerdy, but pretty pretty too.)

No recipe today, but I do want to mention a couple things.

1.  Email Notifications – yay!
Perhaps you’ve noticed the brand new Subscribe Via Email button in the sidebar. Probably not though, since I just added it yesterday. Anyway, I added this option because a good bunch of you have inquired about receiving email notifications when I update the blog (good idea!). I know the RSS thing isn’t for everyone (myself included) so I’m happy to send you an email with a direct link to new posts as soon as they go up.  If you’re interested, please email me at gabrielle{at}honestfare{dot}com and write “subscribe via email” in the subject line of your email. You don’t have to decide now…the button will be there forever.

2. Holiday Catering – double yay!
Yet another addition to that there sidebar, is information about Catering Services. I’ve partnered up with Black Bean Deli (everyone’s favorite Cuban café in Winter Park, Florida), and together we’ve been cooking some pretty fantastic food  and catering around town. Traditional Cuban food + Honest Fare? Bet you didn’t see that one coming. It’s so awesome though. Anyway, we’ve put together a special Holiday Catering Menu with lots of delicious, simple food and festive little goodies. I know only a handful of you actually live within distance to have us cater for you, but I just figured I’d throw it out there for those who do. Mainly though, I’ve added the Catering page to Honest Fare so I can send inquiries somewhere to view the menu online. Check it out though and let me know what you think!

If I lived in the country, I would travel and spend money to do a “cooking day” with you. How can I promote you???

Well….I’ll start with making your apple cupcakes for the bake off at work next Friday!

I am about to move to Orlando & I’m so excited about all the cultural foods that were so devastatingly missing from life here in rural TN!!
