My dad grew up in tiny Apalachicola, Florida and spent his summers doing a lot of scalloping, and subsequently so did my brother and I down the line. I always hated the thought of killing them since they're so cute, but then they were always so delicious a few hours later. (I've never seen the shop vac thing, though, that's kind of cool. My dad and great-uncle usually just took forever to do it by hand, haha) This is wonderful, and super nostalgia-y for me.
