So appropriate for winter, however this reminds me of a snowy white winter, one that we are currently not having now.

I'm horribly late in saying it, but so glad you're back. What a full, crazy, beautiful adventure it sounds like you're having. This slaw looks perfect, Gabi. I have too much cabbage from the CSA right now, so this will be put to use immediately. Cheers.

Melissa,
Haha. Yep, you're exactly right - honey would be a very good substitute. Good luck!

I absolutely LOVE granola and am dying to make this ... but I have a question first. What would you suggest as an alternative to maple syrup? I'm one of about 4 people in the Universe who finds the taste of maple utterly repellent (I've come to terms with it). I don't know that honey or molasses would do well. Thoughts?

I made this tonight for my birthday as I am on a detox so couldn't indulge in pie with crust... a great success! We loved it. Threw on some pecans as well. And with a side of vanilla coconut milk ice cream took this from "Yumm" to "This is AWESOME". cheers

This is brilliant! I love pastry but I have to watch my weight, and this is so much healthier. I am buying apples later today.

I love the idea of a crust-less pie. The crust is always the part that can make or break the dish, so not having that variable would be a blessing (needless to say, I have not perfected my pie crust). That said, my husband's favorite part of the pie is the crust... but I think I'll give it a try. Thanks for the idea.
